RIO: In fact, I think it’s SO complicated and SO messy that it’s physically dangerous to interact with. At least, as a lowly mortal being. You'd need to be on another level to manage all this.

EMI: Mortal? The Taimu are mortal?

RIO: Oh yeah, all Taimu are mortal. It's just not something most of them think about, since they live so long.

RIO: You are WAY more likely to be killed than you are to die of natural causes.

EMI: I mean I guess the military always talks about killing Rogue Taimu.

EMI: They ain't very subtle about it...

RIO: It's meant to keep the rest of the population from thinking about going rogue.

RIO: By the way, you should probably get back to Homeworld soon, or they'll label you as a Rogue as well.

EMI: What! No way! Ain't no way I'm headin' back after all this cool stuff you’ve been showing off!

RIO: Great. That's the spirit. They'll go ahead and label anything they don’t like as Rogue anyways.

RIO: They're the worst.

EMI: Statements like that are how you get labeled as rogue!

RIO: HAHA! As if I'm not already one.

EMI: I know I was just jokin'.

RIO: I’m not good at pickin’ up on those, haha.

EMI: Sorry, my bad!

RIO: Nah, you're good.

RIO: This thing, the uh, the Whatever Terminal likes to zap me everytime I try to ask it questions. Seems it doesn’t want me to know things, especially stuff related to the "viewer" or whatever. Doesn't seem to like me very much, as if I personally offended it somehow.

EMI: The viewer?

RIO: Yeah, but what I gather is that they’re some higher god-like entity that views what the Terminals output.

RIO: What they see through is the viewport, I guess. If only I had higher security clearance...

EMI: How do you get higher clearance?

RIO: Peck if I know.

RIO: Even if I don’t have the clearance, there was a time when the Alpha timeline was actually on the viewport here, though.

EMI: For reals? :o

RIO: Yeah, for reals! :o

RIO: What I saw there? It was awful... Nothing was good, it was all bad.

EMI: How so? Alpha is what we came from, right?

RIO: You betcha.

RIO: In the Alpha timeline I saw, all our friends... Sua, Moa, Yui...

RIO: All three of them were killed.

EMI: What?! No...

RIO: The Alpha Condition... was the defeat of The Galactic Superheroes.

RIO: Which in their context, I suppose kind of makes sense...?

RIO: Hat Kid, Bow Kid, and Mustache Girl... they needed to protect their planet. At least, from the viewport's given Alpha Condition.

RIO: And so it decided the Alpha Condition should involve the death of The Superheroes.

EMI: That's awful! They're friends too... why would they kill each other?

RIO: Homeworld's fault mainly, didn’t do any research into Bos Koh's so-called "galactic crimes" and sent a metaphorical nuclear bomb to deal with the situation. Moa Mot.

RIO: There's a reason I didn’t show you the Alpha Timeline, Emi.

EMI: But you did show me the Alpha Timeline... you mean it... changed?

RIO: Yep! That's where I come in, I hated that. It made me sad.

RIO: I like my friends, I don’t wanna see them die.

RIO: I wanna see them thrive.

RIO: So... using what knowledge I had, and the training manuals...

RIO: I shifted the condition.

EMI: You can do that...?

RIO: In theory yeah, but the Terminal yelled at me afterwards, and it hurt!

RIO: Really really bad, I thought I was gonna supernova from that feeling.

RIO: However, it worked! The new Alpha Condition was...

RIO: Hat Kid, Bow Kid, Mustache Girl, Sua Met, Moa Mot, Yui Mat... all become friends again, and come to a mutual peace treaty.

RIO: The Terminal told me this shift was extremely irresponsible, and created 5 more abnormalities. Whatever those are...

RIO: But to that, I thought, surely the viewer wouldn't wanna see the superheroes die either?

RIO: Surely that would've felt awful? Am I the only one who cared? Did they want that? What DID they want?

RIO: This... FEELS correct, but I couldn't help but feel as if I broke EVERYTHING.

RIO: As if I broke the system into pieces, and then taped them back together. Hard not to feel like everything was just… so terribly convenient. They all just became friends, for seemingly no reason. Everything just fell into place arbitrarily, like it was rushed or something. Rushed like it always is.

RIO: It's just... I wanted them to be happy.

RIO: Is a happy ending really so bad? Even if the alternative is more logical and realistic... Is a happy ending really such a bad thing?
